We have a vast range of opportunities available to people living in the UK and wanting to travel abroad. Predominantly we target young people under the age of 31 years, however not all our programmes are limited to the young, we also offer some programmes without age constraints.
Volunteering: Everything is Possible offers volunteering projects under the European Commission Youth in Action Programme. European Voluntary Service offers young people from 16 to 30 years the opportunity to volunteer all over the world from 2 weeks to 12 months. Volunteers support local community projects, whilst gaining valuable personal and professional skills. They are supported through their voluntary service by Everything is Possible and our International partner organisations, and the best thing about it is, unlike many international volunteering opportunities, it is free.
Training overseas: Another opportunity we offer for international mobility is funded through the Lifelong Learning Programme, developed to offer informal and formal learning opportunities overseas, this project is limited to European countries, but we have previously offered opportunities with some of the European overseas regions, the French islands of Martinique and La Reunion and Aruba which is a Overseas Department of the Netherlands. These training opportunities are unrestricted by aged, offered to adults without an upper age limit, so as long as you are over 16 and out of full time education you are eligible. Leonardo da Vinci – the strand of the programme which we offer this opportunity through gives access to vocational training opportunities, which again are fully funded and often help people identify their future career. Projects last for up to 26 weeks, but are individually tailored by our staff and overseas partners so if appropriate can also be of much shorter durations.
Short-term international opportunities: Annually we offer short-term international opportunities to young people, examples of this are groups we have taken on cultural exchanges to Reunion Island and France, to engage in music and sports projects. We are happy to meet with groups of motivated young people and youthworkers to discuss with you possible opportunities for your group. Also don’t be scared to get in touch with us if you are not already part of a group, frequently we bring together individual young people and help them establish a group which can then take part in individual activities. We try not to pass on any costs for the experience to young people themselves, which often means an element of fundraising (another good skills to have under your belt.) Get in touch if you want to find out more.
