Animal care – Aruba
View all countriesTrainees will have the opportunity to work across several animal care organisations.
This will include working at the Aruban Donkey Sanctuary, feeding, cleaning and helping with visitors, working at Sgt Peppers rescue centre helping to care for stray/abandoned animals.
Also working with a dog trapping organisation which helps to rescue and castrate stray dogs to alleviate the problem of strays on the island and with a local vet practice, helping with treating and operating on a variety of animals.
Dependant on the time of year students may observe a nesting or hatching of sea turtles.

Project place: Aruba
Aruba is a 33 km-long island of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea, located 27 km north of the coast of Venezuela and 130 km (approx.) east of Colombia. Aruba is one of the four constituent countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands, together with the Netherlands, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten whose citizens share a single nationality: Dutch citizen.The sanctuary is near Santa Cruz, a beautiful tourist city.
