Wildlife conservation – South Africa
View all countriesThe project will take place at Zingela Safari and River company and focuses on all aspects of wildlife conservation and sustainability.
Trainees will work with local guides, particularly in monitoring and recording data of the giraffe population.
Two weeks will be spent will a local expert in crocdile trapping which will involve travelling to different locations in South Africa where problems with crocodiles have been reported and assisting in trapping, transporting and releasing these.
Trainee profile:
• Strong interest in wildlife and conservation
• Physical fitness/ ability to undertake long treks
• Love of the outdoors
• Flexibilty
• studying animal management or conservation
The project place:
A good hour from the tar road, Zingela is situated in the heart of wilderness game country on the banks of the mighty Tugela River.
